The PhD programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science offers the opportunity to undertake advanced legal research at one of the world's best law schools. Students in our PhD programme receive excellent training and work under the supervision of leading scholars with strong international, comparative and interdisciplinary commitments.
In each programme, students write a detailed research thesis on a topic they have chosen under the supervision of a member of staff specialising in that area of law. A thesis is presented of 100,000 words for a PhD. Candidates are also required to attend a viva voce (oral) examination.
